Slight Risk Severe Weather Wednesday
The Delaware Valley is under a slight risk of severe weather today for the Delaware Valley for today. A cold front is moving in from the west and will be crossing our area during the late afternoon and early evening hours, spreading rain and imbedded thunderstorms along the frontal boundary.
The main threat from any storms that one experiences today is from wind, with isolated hail reports of over 1/2" being secondary. Winds could gust today to 35 mph before the front crosses and up to and over 65 mph in thunderstorms that cross our area. These storms may contain some imbedded lightning and will be quick moving with most of the rainband and associated storms moving at 45 mph or so.Expect temps today to pop into 68-75 range early, with temperatures sliding back some with rainfall and then dropping like a rock once the front crosses through (a 20 degree temp drop in 4-5 hours is not out of the ballpark this evening).
Temperatures will remain cool for the next several days after the frontal passage -- I'll touch on the details of that later today or tomorrow.
