Yes, Virginia, Philadelphia got 4 INCHES of snow. FOX29 was the only TV station that busted badly on this forecast for snow amounts. Unfortunately, NBC10 busted horribly on start time and scored TWELVE POINTS on this event. The National Weather Service did forecast high on the AM shift but they did come down and call for 2-5" last night for the city, so in the nowcast (short term forecasting) world they verified. The first snow observation occurred at 7 PM. Check this link to see all calls made.


That was my final call from Sunday night. I busted to the west and southwest (I only received about 1/2" and I was calling for about 2" in Upper Montgomery County), and over Ocean County and parts of Long Island, which are going to end up with about 6" of snow. For Philadelphia, I nailed the call of 2-4.
