Forecast Discussion: Mild Weather Ahead
After a mild day in the area yesterday, the warmth returns in force. Temperatures about 15 degrees above normal for highs today? Believe it! We are going to make a run at 70 in Philadelphia and a few places could sneak into the low 70's in Southeast PA.
We should see a ton of sunshine today in Philadelphia with light winds, which in the end will make it feel pretty darn warm out. Friday will feature a slightly stronger wind (10-20 mph with gusts to 25) and it is possible that we see some Red Flag Watches for brush fires Friday afternoon because of the low dewpoints and higher winds.

Our first front will come through Friday night and early Saturday with a chance of rain. This shouldn't be a big event...about 1/4 of an inch of rain should fall...and it looks that most of the precip will be scattered in coverage. The front should clear out by late Saturday afternoon and the other half of this weekend will be quite nice and sunny with highs on Sunday in the low to mid 60's.
Another front will be tracking towards us on Monday night. Monday should feature increasing winds from the SW and increasing clouds in the afternoon. Temperatures for Opening Day for the Phillies should be in the 63-68 range. This front looks stronger on the maps but the same could be said for the system that will come through here on Saturday. I tend to think that the models are slightly overdoing this low now and I do not expect as potent a frontal crossing on Monday night. However, I do expect showers and possibly a rumble of thunder.

Temperatures slip back towards normal after the Monday Night frontal passage, with temperatures back into the mid and upper 50's for Tuesday, warmer on Wednesday (back near 60 or above).
