Today looks to be one of those days where one is better off not looking out the window. Rain is moving up from the southeast and across the region. This should stick around for most of the morning and into the early afternoon before exiting to our northwest later today. Temperatures will be kept down with the rainfall -- expect highs only the mid 60's and that is with the benefit of a few peeks of late afternoon sunshine that may develop. It is entirely possible we stay in the 50's, especially to the north and west of the area as they will hold on to the clouds and rain the longest.
Today's system is part of the massive upper level low feature that has brought snow to Wisconsin, flooding rains to Massachusetts, and flooding rains to Berks County on Saturday afternoon. It is also a very slow mover and is taking its sweet time to clear out of Eastern US. We should see another day on Tuesday with a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms as the upper level low moves across the area. Wednesday may be a repeat of Tuesday but with less shower/storm action compared to what is expected tomorrow. Not everyone will get rained on Tuesday or Wednesday but those that do may get hammered in the fashion that happened on Saturday.

After this system finally clears out of the area on Wednesday, another cold front looks to be crossing the region Thursday night (we should be able to get a pretty nice day in for most of Thursday) and will give us another chance of rain for Thursday night into Friday AM before clearing out for the weekend. Another system may come down Sunday night and into Monday.
Typhoon Chanchu is heading for Hong Kong and Southeast China with 125 mph winds. This storm, which blasted through the Phillippines over the weekend, will likely strike near Hong Kong in the next 72 hours.
Thousands of evacuees started to return home in the central Philippines on Monday as Typhoon Chanchu headed toward southern China after killing 37 people and tearing up villages in the Southeast Asian country.
The National Disaster Coordinating Council said only 435 families were left in evacuation centers, half of those that were forced to flee to high ground at the height of the typhoon.
Chanchu affected about 53,300 people in wide areas of the Luzon and Visayas regions, the disaster council said in a report.
Damage to agriculture was estimated at 71.6 million pesos ($1.4 million) and to infrastructure at 27 million pesos.
