Flooding Photos along the Schuylkill River
Photos taken at the Spring City/Royersford Bridge. The Schuylkill will likely crest here on Thursday morning with flooding levels expected to be near the 1972 Agnes flood levels along most of the Schuylkill's basin.

This photo was taken two blocks away from the river. If you see the phone and power lines in the distance that is 1st Avenue (I was standing along 2nd avenue and on top of a small embankment). 1st Avenue in Royersford, which runs along the bank of the river, has about 1-2 feet of standing water as of this morning. I saw a guy walking through it as I drove off but I couldn't pull off to a get pic of the idiot in the water. Note to everyone: Don't walk in flooded areas. The way the Schuylkill was moving this AM, even a foot of water could cause problems.

This is taken along the Royersford-Spring City bridge, which is about 10-12 feet higher than the water line this AM. There are barricades in place along the side of Main Street in Royersford in case the river tops the embankment along the side.

Schuylkill River coming at me from Pottstown. The clouds in the distance are from the Limerick Nuke Plant.

Barrel -- hopefully not from the nuke plant.

Flooding going up into the leaves of the river bottom trees. This is the highest I've seen the Schuylkill in the 5 years I've lived in this area (including my time near Pottstown).

The good thing with this tropical system that came through the area is that it has shut off, for now, the tropical conveyor belt of moisture. The sun is coming out this morning, skies are clearing up some, and we should see a much nicer morning.
