The Early Chill
The last time Philadelphia had a low temperature of 50 or lower was May 19th, when it was 48 degrees in Philadelphia. Temperatures this morning in much of the region were in the low 40's, with only Philadelphia and Washington being at or above 50 thanks to their localized heat islands. The 40 degree reading in Pottstown was the lowest in the lower elevations of Southeastern Pennsylvania.The last time it was this cool this early in Philadelphia was in 2004, on the 19th and 20th of September (both days in the 50's).
