Oh My...It's Some Clouds

Some high level cloud cover is streaming north from the Southeast today, which makes my prediction of a near cloud-free day a mini bust this afternoon if you are in Philadelphia and points south. Those of you that are to the north of the city are still in the clear and should be for much of the afternoon.

The clouds are in association with a complex weather setup off of Florida. An upper level low (now in the Eastern Gulf of Mexico) and a tropical disturbance (Investigation 93L) combined to provide a couple of inches of rain to South Carolina and Georgia while spewing cloud debris northward thanks to our location on the west side of a high pressure ridge. Those southwest winds are bringing these clouds up our way. There is rain in Southeastern Virginia this afternoon but that should stay to our south and not get anywhere near us.
