September 19th, 2007 Forecast
It's a rinse and repeat cycle in Philadelphia. Today's 73 degree high in Philadelphia was a degree warmer than yesterday, which was four degrees warmer than Sunday. Wednesday's weather will be a couple of degrees warmer again as we begin to see the wind pattern swing around slowly to the southeast and then eventually to the south later on this week. Temperatures will respond to this wind shift by warming up each day through Saturday when a frontal boundary moves through. The front should be mostly dry but I'm keeping a chance of a shower or storm in there for now as some moisture from the mess of storms off of the East Coast of Florida (not directly associated with the tropical system) may stream northward ahead of this frontal boundary.
Tonight: Temperatures will drop off into the 40's again for everyone except the immediate coast and I-95 where it will be in the 50's.
Wednesday: Temperatures will bump up into the mid 70's for everyone except the coast (low 70's). It will be sunny and, again, will be dry.Congrats Cecily: WPVI-TV meteorologist Cecily Tynan gave birth to a daughter, Emma Grace, on Monday morning. It is Cecily's second child.
Scholarly Behavior: The American Meteorological Society has some scholarships for undergraduate and graduate students for the 2008-2009 school year. Deadline is February 8th, 2008.
