Weather News and Snooze...

NBC 10 has a new meteorologist starting up soon to work weekend mornings. Michelle Grossman, who works at NBC Weatherplus, will fill one of the open meteorologist slots over at Channel 10. Grossman is a Bucks County native. Grossman will replace current fill-in Karen Thomas.

In other NBC 10 news you can catch Hurricane Schwartz will be talking about his search for a relationship on WPHT (1210 AM) tomorrow (Tuesday) night at 8 PM with Anthony Mazzarelli. Hurricane was recently noticed looking for a relationship on Match.com in a Philadelphia Inquirer article by Michael Klein. (correction made to note that Hurricane will not be playing The Dating Game but will be talking about his online dating experience on air. )

Former NBC 10 meteorologist Doug Kammerer is four weeks away from his debut at CBS 3. Apparently promos are soon to be released highlighting his return to the airwaves. Astute viewers at CBS 3 may have already seen him in the background at Channel 3 in the backdrop, sitting down on the computer and facing forward, whenever there are shots of CBS 3's weather center. A non-compete clause is keeping Kammerer off the air for six months from when he left Channel 10 back in August 2007.

"New Poll": I asked the same poll a year ago and thought I would ask this again. Do you think this winter is the worst winter you remember? Is it worse than last winter, where 33% of the respondents in this same poll said it was the worst winter they remembered.

Surf's Up: Lake Superior's South Shore is home to surfers in the dead of winter. Yep, even in subzero weather and 33 degree water, Lake Superior has brave (or idiotic if you will) surfers.
