March 11th, 2008 Forecast

Now: Mostly cloudy skies with occasional sunshine in the region. Some light rain showers/sprinkles were traveling through the northern suburbs over the last hour but only a few drops of rain were reaching the ground in most places. Temperatures are in the mid 40's across the region as of 3 PM.

Tonight: Skies will generally be cloudy and more scattered sprinkles/flurries are possible. It won't be a widespread event and any precipitation that falls will not be a big deal (i.e. no accumulations of snow expected). Temperatures tonight will drop into the lower and middle 30's.
Tuesday: A sprinkle or flurry are possible early in the morning in New Jersey or Delaware as precipitation works off the coast. A mixture of clouds and sun will continue through much of the day, with temperatures ending up a couple of degrees on either side of 50 degrees. It will end up being a pretty nice day despite the lack of full sunshine.
We'll see another clipper system pass just to the north on Wednesday, bringing a chance for a shower north of Philadelphia in the afternoon. Temperatures through Saturday should be above normal and another chance of precipitation is looking more likely on Saturday as a low pressure system blasts through the Mid Atlantic or Northeast. Right now it looks like a rain event for Philadelphia.

Wild Wooly Weather In UK: Britain is dealing with a very strong storm system bringing wind gusts to 80 mph. The low bombed (significantly strengthened) in the North Atlantic, with pressure dropping 24 mb over the last 24 hours, similar to a rapid intensification cycle in a hurricane.

Church's Duty: The Southern Baptists believe they now have a duty to stop climate change. A statement from the church stated that "Our cautious response... in the face of mounting evidence may be seen by the world as uncaring, reckless and ill-informed. We can do better."

One Sports Casualty Of Saturday's Storm was the Wings-Toronto Rock lacrosse game. Toronto was stuck and unable to fly into Philadelphia because of snowfall they got in the last storm. The Wings game will be rescheduled to Sunday, April 6th at 8:05 PM.
