News and Snooze
I will be out of town today and tomorrow morning on work-related business. Just a reminder that Wednesday's forecast is available in case you want to read it. I will be back to regular posting tomorrow.
The National Hurricane Center is releasing their 2008 hurricane season forecast on Thursday. A study released yesterday by NOAA researchers says that hurricanes in the coming decades may be slightly stronger even if there are fewer hurricanes per season. The study is consistent with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's findings from 2007.
Joe Bastardi over at Accuweather says to "solve" the global warming debate the incoming president, whether it be Barack Obama or John McCain, should take the top five scientists in the field on both sides of the issue and get them into a meeting and argue it out without cameras.
Some rain for thought: Philadelphia has had a trace of rain or more the last seven days, including today, and 15 of 20 days this month. Take the traces out and we've "only" had measurable rainfall on eight of 20 days.
