NOAA Releases 2008 Hurricane Season Outlook
The 2008 hurricane season outlook was issued today by the National Hurricane Center. Their forecast calls for a slightly above average season, with a total forecast of 12-16 named storms, 6-9 hurricanes, and 2-5 major hurricanes. This is slightly above the 30 year average of 11 named storms.The National Hurricane Center / NOAA cooperative forecast does not account for any storm track outlooks or areas of favored landfall but does give a seasonal assessment of what they think will happen.
