Records On Parade
The hottest day of the year so far across the Delaware Valley as high temperatures reached a record high of 98 degrees. Record highs were set or tied in nine locations in the Delaware Valley. 98 broke the record of 97 degrees by one.Other major records were set at Reading, Allentown, Millville, and Newark.
In the temperature challenge, the 98 degree high was matched by Channels 6, 29, and the National Weather Service. All three outlets forecast 98 degrees on Sunday night and thus scored a perfect for day #2 of the temperature challenge. Channels 6 and 29 and the National Weather Service are all tied for first place with five points after two days. The temperature challenge bases its grading off of Sunday night's forecasts as a "snapshot" in time to see which forecast outlet does the best job with a five day forecast.
