June 27th and 28th, 2009 Forecast
A steamy and summery Friday will give way to a summery weekend as temperatures don't fall off much in the wake a frontal boundary passage later tonight. However, instability will still lurk in the atmosphere and a chance of a pop up storm will be around Saturday, with more storms possible late Sunday as another disturbance begins its approach to the region.Tonight: Scattered evening showers and thunderstorms should become less numerous as the night progresses. Some storms could be severe with a decent amount of instability present in the atmosphere, with the region under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10 PM. Skies later tonight will become partly cloudy, with low temperatures in the mid 60's in the burbs to around 70 in Philadelphia.
Saturday: Skies should generally be mostly sunny to start, with a mix of sun and clouds as the afternoon progresses. Temperatures will top out in the mid 80's. There could be a couple of showers that pop up in places, with the highest chance (not a huge chance) across Northern New Jersey and the Poconos, but these should be few and far between. Overall, the odds support a dry day for much of the region and any storm that does fire up should be short lived in your location. Saturday night's lows should be in the lower and middle 60's.
Sunday: An upper level disturbance will work through the Lakes, with showers and storms beginning to work towards us with showers or storms possible late in the day, more likely late. Temperatures will be in the low and mid 80's across the Philadelphia area. Not a bad day overall, with a better chance for storms in the evening and overnight than during the day.
At The Shore: Highs near 80 Saturday, upper 70's on Sunday, with a slight chance for a storm on Saturday and slightly better chance for storms on Sunday.

Coming This Weekend: Recapping this week's weather and an update on any storms that pop up Saturday and Sunday.
