Severe Weather Recap

Tonight's severe weather certainly packed a punch in some areas, with three-quarter and one inch diameter hail in a few locations throughout the northern and western suburbs of Philadelphia, along with some hail reports in New Jersey.
Damaging winds also caused damage in the Pottstown and Birdsboro areas to the northwest of Philadelphia, including a report of an eighty foot tree being toppled in Amity Township, Berks County.
The storms come on the heels of the region's first 90 degree day since April 27th as Philadelphia reached the vaunted and oft-avoided mark. The only other 90 in the immediate area was down in Georgetown, DE...with much of the region getting into the mid and upper 80's.
More, 7:30 AM Saturday...
The first picture is of hail that accumulated in Gilbertsville, Montgomery County, submitted by Greg Duffy and taken by his brother after being caught in the storm.

The other two pictures are of the mammatus cloud formation that was seen in parts of the Delaware Valley last night. The pictures were taken by Reilly Sharp in Langhorne and captured a pretty neat and rare phenomena. More mammatus pictures were taken in New York (link goes to twitpic) as their residents were treated to a pretty cool photographic treat.
