Frosty & Sunny Start To Work Week

Although today is generally a cool day it is the nicest day we have had since Tuesday. It makes up for the cool start that featured frost across the suburbs and in parts Chestnut Hill/Mount Airy parts of Philadelphia (hat tip to reader Dave M. who emailed that info along). Philadelphia's Airport bottomed out at 38, coolest since April 17th, with many suburban locations flirting with the freezing mark as the low for the day.

The good thing about today's cool start was that clear skies have been a dominant part of the weather today, allowing for some fall color to brightly show off. You can see the red oak standing out below in the farm field just outside of Trappe, Montgomery County earlier today. The only "cloud" in the sky was the exhaust from the nuclear plant on the far right edge of the picture. The recent rain and wind has taken a pounding on some foliage as a few trees lot a good number of leaves in recent days but some brilliant color will be developing in the foliage over the coming days.

With temperatures tonight again expected to drop into the 30's outside of Center City the potential exists for more frost. Frost Advisories are issued for tonight for almost the entire area.
