Mild Ending To 2011

We are ending 2011 on a mild and showery note this morning.  A few showers lurk out to our west across Central Pennsylvania with a weak clipper type low that's moving on through but those showers will produce little in the way of rain as they move through, if they even survive the trek from the west.   The last of the showers should exit the region around 10 AM, leaving the balance of the day dry.

Temperatures are starting out on a mild note this morning -- 40's for most everyone, some 50's south and east of the city and just 37 in Quakertown for the outlier cool spot.   Temperatures will be mild through the day today under a sky that starts cloudy but trends to a mix of sun and clouds after midday.  High temperatures will range from 52 north to 55 in Philly to near 60 in Millville/Dover and points south.   Winds will nudge to the west at 7-14 mph this afternoon in the wake of the weak clipper low moving through.  One more nice day tomorrow before we jump back into winter on Monday.

For those going out tonight for fireworks and New Years Eve revelry, temperatures will drop this evening into the 40's after sunset.  Midnight should feature temperatures in the upper 30's outside of the city, low 40's in Philadelphia under a mostly clear sky.
