Chilled, clear skies abound around the region this morning as temperatures start in the 20's (outer burbs) and 30's (city and inner burbs). A weak cool front will cross the region later on today, kicking up the west and northwest breezes again this afternoon and leading to an increase in clouds later on in the wake of the frontal boundary passage. It shouldn't lead to significantly colder air but will nudge us a smidge cooler for Saturday before temperatures rebound on Sunday.
Skies today start sunny, transition to a mix of clouds and sunshine later on in the wake of the frontal passage. Highs should range from 51 north to 55 south, with the city getting to 53. Breezes will pick up in the afternoon from the west and northwest in the 15 mph range, gusting to over 20 mph at times. Not a bad day on the whole...just varied skies with typical temperatures for early December.
The early word on the weekend is tranquil, starting coolish on Saturday with 40's for highs before rebounding into the mid and upper 50's on Sunday. Another run into the low 60's is not out of the question for early next week before we eventually cool off.
