February 27th, 2012 Forecast

A cool start to the day Monday turned into a warm day with Philadelphia reaching the 60-degree mark.  With the normals being in the upper 40s, we continue the trend of mild temperatures.  A look into the next week seems like March will like a kitten, not necessarily like a lion.  The week in general looks damp with a series of two systems looking to impact the area.  The first will give the area a quick shot of wintery weather before changing to rain.  The second bringing just rain.

Tonight skies will remain pleasant after a weak cold front pushes through.  Temps will fall throughout the night with winds shifting from the southwest to the west-northwest.  Tomorrow morning will be similar to Monday morning, with temperatures in the 30s and brilliant sunshine.  Clouds will slowly increase tomorrow with temperatures about ten degrees lower than today.  Tomorrow might be a good day to take a lunch outside, since there seems like no other quality chances for the rest of the week.

It will be dry on the way home tomorrow however overcast.  Early Wednesday morning, some precipitation will start to move.  In South Jersey, it should primarily be rain, with some sleet mixing in.  Around the city, the Wednesday morning rush might be a little dicey with some snow and sleet mixing in, but change over to rain fairly quickly.  To the north and east, precipitation will start as snow and sleet and change into rain.  By noon, I expect the precipitation to be all rain.

The system will mostly move out by late Wednesday night, however a leftover shower could stick around into Thursday morning.  Thursday is not a complete washout as the sun will come out by late morning.  Friday is a transition day as one system depart and one comes in.  Expect more sun than clouds with the clouds increasing into the evening.  Rain will start overnight into Saturday but not as widespread as Wednesday.  A possible heavier shower or rumble of thunder shouldn't be ruled out.  The latter half of the weekend will be breezy and cooler as skies clear.
