Forecast for Monday, February 13, 2012
Tuesday’s precipitation event looks to be of light intensity at this point and with surface temperatures above freezing… little or no snow accumulation is expected in places where snow may be more dominant than rain. Some freezing rain or drizzle is possible in our far northern areas such as the Poconos.
We then turn attention to a warm front moving through on Thursday. Locations north of this warm front and away from the strong oceanic influence could see mixed precipitation. Elsewhere, it appears too mild for any frozen precipitation, even if Philadelphia is north of the boundary…at least from this vantage point. We do note the colder EURO model that is floating around. However, a colder trend on the other modeling and this forecast could change and head towards the more wintry side for Philadelphia. A cold front will move in for the weekend bringing colder, but still above average temperatures.
