Damp & Raw Today

We are ending March not necessarily like a lion...but more like a damp kitten today.  Chilled, raw, damp, and mainly cloudy for the day ahead.  Last night's rain and thunder event has cleared the region, bringing between a tenth and a half inch of rain to the region, with some sleet and snow mixed in across the Poconos during the thunder portion of the event just before Midnight last night.  No noted accumulations across those regions but the dynamics of last night's cool front and storm system were enough to not only fire up thunder with the band of rain but also get some snow into parts of the Poconos.

We shouldn't have any snow issues today -- but we will have a chilled north to northeast breeze through much of the day with intermittent spats of drizzle and perhaps showers.  The best chances for steadier showers are north and northeast of the city and mainly this morning but drizzle or even a shower can't be ruled out through the rest of the region this morning.

Highs today will generally get to 50 degrees or so -- a bit cooler north and east of the city (40's at the Shore), perhaps a degree or two warmer across Berks and Chester Counties.  Some sunshine may break through the overcast towards sunset but unless significant clearing takes place early on temperatures will stay below average to close out the month of March, which will likely end up as the 2nd warmest March since 1872.
