March 16th, 2012 Forecast

Tonight: Showers are possible but will be spotty in nature. An isolated thunderstorm can't be ruled out. Otherwise, skies will remain mostly cloudy. Lows will drop to near 45 degrees. East winds will shift from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph. The sunset tonight is at 7:08 PM.

Friday: A mixture of hazy sun and clouds. There is a 40 percent chance of a few showers, and an isolated thunderstorm is still possible. The high temperature is tricky to forecast, and it depends on the amount of hazy sun that can break through the clouds. The 4 km NAM is suggesting that Philly will reach 70 degrees tomorrow, and it certainly is not out of the question as winds shift from the west in the afternoon, providing downslope off of the Appalachian Mountains. So for now, we will forecast 70 degrees for Philadelphia and mid to upper 60s north and west. The majority of South Jersey and Delaware will also be around 70 degrees, except along the immediate coastline where it will likely hold in the mid-50s as a sea breeze develops in the afternoon. North winds in the morning will shift from the west in the afternoon at 5 to 15 mph across the Delaware Valley.

Saturday: A mix of sun and clouds, and an overall nice day. High in the upper 60s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and beautiful. High in the upper 60s.
