Easter Sunshine

A happy Easter to everyone!  If your going to early church services this morning, it's a cold start as temperatures across the region are in the upper 30's to lower 40's.  There are even a few spots in more rural areas that too full advantage of the radiational cooling last night and are currently below freezing.  One example is Millville, NJ where they are currently at 28 degrees as of 6am.

But once the Sun comes up, temperatures will quickly warm up and we'll see another beautiful spring day with very little if any clouds.  Middle to upper 60's will be the highs across the area.  Again, as yesterday, the only thing that will prevent it from being a perfect day is the breezy conditions.  There will be a gusty Northwest wind ranging in the 10-15 mph range with occasional gusts to 20 mph.  In addition, Red Flag Warnings issued by the National Weather Service are flying over the entire region as with the very dry conditions over the past month, humidity values will be extremely low(below 30%).  This means an increased fire danger risk.

Giving us this nice but breezy weather is a large upper-level low over Southeast Canada.  It's also keeping a persistent northwesterly flow over us.  This feature is not going anywhere over the next several days, so temperatures will be slightly below average for this time of year with chilly nights.  Today may be the warmest this week and we'll be stuck in the 50's for highs starting Tuesday.
