More Sun, Milder Weather Today

Temperatures this morning are cool -- ranging from 30 in Quakertown to the lower and middle 40's along I-95 at 4 AM under a sky that ranges from clear in most spots to a mix of clouds and stars south and east of town.  Those clouds will push away over the next few hours, with the region likely to see a mostly sunny if not mainly sunny sky for today.  No sneak attack showers are on the horizon as the influence of the upper trough wanes and pushes out of the region.

Today will be a nicer day than the past several, a bit less breezy than the past several, and milder as a result of the additional sunshine.  Temperatures should top out in the mid 60's regionwide, with Philly getting to around 66 this afternoon.   Winds generally under 15 miles per hour will make it feel a bit more comfortable out there and it will feel pretty darn nice out there.

The projected warmup is still on track for the weekend and next week, with 80's likely Sunday through Tuesday, warmest on Monday where mid 80's look likely...perhaps even upper 80's if everything breaks right.   Philly's record is 90 so the record may be a bit tough to reach but we will come relatively close...and it will be a stark contrast to the 55 of Wednesday and 59 of yesterday.
