Weather Rewind, April 1-7, 2012

Temperatures last week averaged 2.4 degrees above average -- nothing too out of the ordinary overall and if you took out Wednesday's 71 degree high you'd have a near normal week overall.  Temperatures were rather consistent for the week with the exception of the midweek spike on Tuesday and Wednesday (67 on Tuesday for a high) as highs on the early and late end of the week were generally in the upper 50's and lower 60's.  In essence, a fairly typical early April week around here.

In terms of rainfall, Philly picked up 0.33" of rain -- Sunday into Monday brought a third of an inch of rain from bands of showers that worked through the region over the course of evening and overnight hours.  A brief shot of showers moved through on Tuesday night and the predawn hours of Wednesday but other than that, more dry weather ruled the roost in the Philly metro.  Over the last 60 days, much of the region has seen rainfall totals around or less than half of what is normal for this time of the year.  The region's dry spell continues.
