May 22nd, 2012 Forecast

After a damp day across much of the area, the main rain shield has stayed to the north and west of the region.  Clouds have been in place throughout the day have kept temperatures down over the area as well.  This unsettled pattern will continue into much of the workweek, but will clear out of the area by the time Memorial Day weekend comes around.

The threat for showers and storms for the next few hours will be minimal.  The main body of rain is stay in the Central PA region, however a few renegade showers and maybe a rumble of thunder might pass through certain areas.  Temperatures tonight will remain in the upper 50's to mid-60's.  Winds will be out of the east, around 5 to 10 mph.  Tomorrow, much of the same.  Mostly cloudy skies with the chance for showers and thunderstorms throughout the day.  Best chance for thunderstorms would be in the afternoon.  Much like today, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70's, which is around normal for this time of year.

The rest of the week will be in the lower to mid-80's.  Wednesday looks like the best chance of rain and thunderstorms, again mostly in the afternoon.  Thursday, skies be be noticeably more clear, however the chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms will stick around.  Same for Friday, with less of a chance of precipitation and less clouds.  This latter half of the week, the pattern will slowly start to shift.

Memorial Day weekend looks like a gem.  Clear and warmer on Saturday, with temperatures bumping into the mid to upper 80's.  Sunday will be a little cooler, but perfect weather for the outdoor parades and barbecues.  Memorial Day Monday will feature temperatures in the mid-80's under partly cloudy skies.  Weather at the shore and the Poconos look to be very pleasant as well.  Temperatures in the upper 70's to lower 80's under partly cloudy skies.
