A Tad Warmer Today

Outside of one rogue shower in Bucks County this morning, the region is dry and generally under partly cloudy skies.  Temperatures are a few degrees warmer across the region -- generally in the middle or upper 50's everywhere as opposed to near 50 as we start the day.  This slightly warmer start will yield a slightly warmer finish today as high temperatures will top out in the upper 70's or near 80 degrees depending on location.  The best shot at 80 will fall south of the city...and even if you don't hit 80, most of us will come darn close to it.

Similar to the theme of the past couple of days, afternoon showers and storms will fire up thanks to instability aloft and some residual cold air from the weakening upper trough overhead.  Showers or storms should pop in the midday or early afternoon hours.  Any storm that does pop may bring gusty winds with it but, like yesterday, these look to be relatively scattered in nature.  While any one location could potential pick up a round (or two) of these showers/storms, the best chances to receive these will reside north of the city.
