Localized Downpours Possible For Some Tonight

Radar as we approach 8 PM is showing a batch of showers and thunderstorms to our southwest, spreading north and northeastward.  An initial burst of showers and storms is working into Delaware and Chester Counties, with a relatively larger area of heavy rain moving little across Maryland's Eastern Shore and parts of New Castle and Kent Counties in Delaware.

Those storms further south in DE and MD have lead to flood warnings (green boxes) in places where several inches of rain have fallen through the course of the day today.

These storms are in association with the same system that brought several inches of rain last night to Cape May, Wildwood, and the Delaware Beaches...and brought flooding earlier today to the Baltimore area.

Movement, in general, is north and northeast.  While some of this will weaken through the night I think we'll see parts of the region deal with rain and thunder -- the best chances of this will be to the city's southwest and west.
