Scattered Storms Around This PM

As of 1:45 PM, there are scattered thunderstorms around the region...not everyone is getting hit as you can tell on radar...storms are generally widely scattered but more common west of the city than they are east from a geographic sense.  The theme this afternoon is for scattered, hit and miss thunderstorms that can pop up, perhaps become severe for a time, drop some heavy rain and perhaps small hail, and bring a lot of lightning with them.

Not everyone will see a storm between now and day's end -- those that do could get an approximate 30 minute heavy downpour as the atmosphere is primed with lots of moisture on a tropical afternoon in the Delaware Valley.  Temperatures are pushing the upper 80's and lower 90's as of 1PM but heat index values are flirting with 100 in a few spots as dew point values are in the middle 70's across much of the region.

Storms will generally push north...slowly...through the course of the afternoon.
