Showers/Thunderstorms Some Heavy

Its an active more for some spots across the region this morning.  As of 7am, there is a large area of rain well to the west of Phildelphia in Central PA extending north to south from the PA Border to the Poconos.  There is embedded heavier rainfall in this line in an area northeast of Harrisburg, along I-81 and I-78.  Radar is estimating 1-2" per hour rain rates in this area.  Be careful driving if your around that area. This line is moving Northeast, but very slowly and it remains to be seen how far east it will get and if it holds together.

Its quite muggy this morning with temperatures ranging from the upper 60's to lower 70's.  With lots of cloud cover today, temperatures will not rise much and will be in the upper 70's to mid 80's.  There could be a few breaks of sun at times, especially southern areas this afternoon, so where that happens, those spots will see the highest temperatures.

In addition, the Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight Risk for severe weather today for much of our region.  A separate post on that potential will be added later this morning.  But thunderstorms are in the forecast this afternoon.  It still remains to be seen how unstable the air mass will get based on this mornings cloud cover.
