Starting Off Labor Day Weekend Quite Warm

We're a few degrees warmer this morning out the door than we were yesterday as temperatures range from the 50's only in the Lehigh Valley and points north as of 4 AM to the lower 70's in the city.  A few clouds are around this morning in the mid atmosphere but on the whole, clouds shouldn't be a problem today as skies generally are sun-splashed through the course of the day.

With high pressure just to our south and a weak cool front to our north over New England, a west breeze that averages 10 miles per hour, gusts a bit higher at times, will help heat us up today.  We should hit 90 for the 38th time this year by day's end, getting to around 92 in Philadelphia.  We will avoid a record high by several degrees (it's 101 in the city for today) but it will still be a quite warm start to the Labor Day weekend.  The good news is humidity levels will be very modest with dew points in the 50's throughout the region.
