Forecast for Sunday, September 23, 2012

For tonight, as a cold front swings on through, there is a chance for showers with a few thunderstorms. There is some modeling suggesting some sort of a broken squall-line that may move through the region. Any showers or thunderstorms should move offshore shortly after midnight. Some isolated severe thunderstorms are possible according to the Storm Prediction Center.  We will continue to monitor the SPC and our local NWS on Facebook and Twitter throughout the evening.
For Sunday through Tuesday, ample sunshine is anticipated. Later on Tuesday, some increasing clouds are possible as warmer and moist air will come through the region ahead of our next cold front which will move in later on Wednesday. The next cold front may create another opportunity for some gusty showers and thunderstorms. Assuming that this front should clear our area rather quickly, sunshine should return for Thursday and Friday. Another front may yet again impact the area later on Saturday into Sunday.
