Although thought of as a fall sport, this week's high school football games will be preceded by a little heat. Temperatures on Friday could get into the lower 90's, but by the time the games start, a cooler feel will start to prevail. The humidity will also be around as well, making this weeks games warm but feeling a little sticky.
Around kickoff in the metro region, temperatures will be in the mid to lower 80's to start. Humidity levels will also start to lower after a rather hot and humid afternoon on Friday. By halftime, Temperatures will be hovering around the 80-degree mark, just in time for the marching bands. By the fourth quarter and hopefully your teams win, temperatures will have fallen into the upper 70's with overall lows in the lower 70's. Skies will remain partly cloudy, to mostly cloudy towards the northers suburbs and by the end of the game, it will start to feel cooler as the humidity drops. Winds will remain out of the south at 5 to 10 mph.
Towards the north and west as well as down to the south and east, temperatures will start out in the lower 80's. In the Lehigh Valley and to the north, skies could remain mostly cloudy with an isolated shower, however in most other areas, shies should be partly cloudy. By halftime temperatures are down into the upper 70's and towards the end of the game, temperatures will be down to the mid-70's. Winds will be out of the south-southeast around 5 mph. Like areas closer to the city, humidity will be noticeable at the beginning of the game, but will slowly drop throughout the evening.
