September 12th, 2012 Forecast
Arguably, it's weather perfection outside today as the region is bathed in sunshine and winds are light. Proverbially epic weather continues for the next few days as a large, sprawling high pressure center nudges off the coast slowly. The result is a warming trend but with low humidity in the offing as tropical moisture is blocked from pushing up the coast.
Tonight will be the last sub 60 degree night this week in the city -- probably 57 for a low in Philadelphia, with 40's still possible in the coolest of suburbs and the Pinelands as light winds allow for some nice cooling after sunset. Tomorrow features temperatures five to seven degrees warmer than today, with low 80's in many spots and plenty of sunshine. Temperatures won't vary much across the region and humidity levels will remain very comfortable.
The next chance of rain is on Sunday at this point (although I'm keeping an eye on Saturday night in case some moisture sneaks in overnight) with a disturbance pushing in from the west. At this point, it doesn't look like much for us in terms of impact in temperatures after it moves through but it will bring some showers and storms to the picture to close out the weekend. Next week may bring a more substantive chance of rain around midweek. We'll keep an eye on it.
