September 15th, 2012 Forecast

Another great day with comfortable temperatures, low humidity and more sunshine introduced us to a classic Mid-Atlantic weekend ahead.  This absolutely gorgeous weather will be with us through the weekend, before we see some precipitation moves in during the workweek.  With the way our pattern has been lately, there are no dramatic spikes in temperature or flooding rains to talk about; this weather for the next week is classic September weather for the area.

For tonight, it look like most of the rain chances I mentioned yesterday have been taken out of the forecast, however, since there was a greater chance to the north, I wanted to leave the wording in there. Otherwise for a majority of the area, cool temperatures under partly cloudy skies.  Lows dipping down to near 60-degrees around the city and to the south and east.  Places to the north and west could see lows into the upper 50's.  Winds will start out from the south at 5 to 10 mph before shifting to the west. The winds will ultimately be from the north for Saturday.  Temperatures will be back in the upper 70's, after flirting with the 80-degree mark the last couple of days.  Temperatures to the south and east also in the upper 70's to near 80-degrees and to the north and west, highs in the mid-70's making this weekend a great getaway weekend.

For Sunday, temperatures slide back into the mid-70's and will feature a lot of the same as Saturday, continued sunshine and moderate temperatures.  Monday and the start of the workweek is when we see the change.  Skies will start partly cloudy but by mid-afternoon, many will see increasing cloudiness and pockets of isolated showers, increasing in numbers throughout the evening.  Tuesday will be the wettest day of the week, with numerous showers and the possibility of a thunderstorm in some spots.  Temperatures climbing from the mid-70's on Monday to the upper 70's on Tuesday and into Wednesday.  Wednesday also starts to dry us out, with partly sunny skies and a chance of a shower lingering around.  Thursday we dry out completely under partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid- to upper 70's.  Next Friday, we'll be talking about and fantastic start to the weekend, with highs in the mid-70's and lows in the mid- to upper 50's.
