It Rained...A Lot For Some

Rainfall varied quite a lot around the region yesterday -- the city only picked up 0.37" at the Airport, with Blue Bell (0.15") and Doylestown (0.36") picking up even less than that. Rainfall was as high as nearly four inches with the storm system that moved through (Mount Pocono).

There were three slots of rainfall yesterday -- one that dropped over two inches of rain from near Ephrata in Lancaster County northeast through Reading to just west of Allentown and into the Poconos.  In between, a bit of a drier slot from Stroudsburg southwest to Coatesville before a second rainfall swath where over an inch fell from Elkton, MD northeast through Pottstown and into North Jersey.

Lull #2 was from South Jersey north through Philly and into Bucks County before a third rainfall maxima lined up from near Hammonton north through Trenton and into Central Jersey.  Rainfall at Trenton was over an inch and near two inches up in Somerset County.

The vast majority of this was from morning rains that moved through the region -- the rainfall in the two inch plus swath largely fell in the overnight hours Thursday into Friday before the swath of rain that moved through Philly during the morning hours.

The soaker is behind us -- and nice weather will be ahead for a while.  Later this morning, we outline just how long it lasts!
