Temperatures that were in the 50's yesterday morning in Minneapolis have been replaced by much colder teens and 20's early this morning. While we in Philadelphia won't get that level of temperature drop tonight and tomorrow as the incoming cold front pushes through, the front does offer a relatively decent pop of reality and colder temperatures as it moves in.
To wit, Minneapolis yesterday went from 49 at 2 PM to 34 and light snow three hours later. At 4 AM CT, the wind chill there was just 2 degrees above zero. Those 50's that were in Minneapolis yesterday are in Cleveland this morning. We get our warm surge this afternoon as we push near 60 degrees. However, no warm start in our offing today as we're in the 20's and 30's through the region thanks to light winds last night and clear skies that allowed for a foggy overnight through South Jersey and Delaware.
The front will drop our temperatures tomorrow by between 10 and 15 degrees from today's high temperatures -- instead of flirting with 60, we'll be in the mid and upper 40's tomorrow afternoon with a pretty stiff breeze from the west and northwest.
