Skies are clear to start the day. Temperatures as of 7am are in the upper 20's to around 30 degrees across the region. Places that saw the snow on Saturday are a bit cooler than that. We'll see sunshine this morning, but clouds will be on the increase during the afternoon. It will be overcast by evening. High pressure centered over the southeastern states will push offshore. The flow will becoming more zonal and a few weak impulses imbedded within the flow which will bring in the clouds tonight and will develop showers for New Year's Day.
Temperatures today will rise in to the upper 30's to lower 40's, which is pretty much average for this time of year. After quite an active storm pattern the past two weeks and same goes for the fall season with Sandy, we are ending the year on a quiet note. Winds today will be much less than yesterday, but there still will be a breeze from the west-southwest around 10-15 mph.
There is a storm system over the midwest that will slowly move east and that will bring some more rain or snow showers for Wednesday.
