Brisk, Brighter, Blustery

After our inch to three inches of snow yesterday evening around the region, brighter skies will return with a mix of clouds and sunshine today.  As the clipper pulls away, it will intensify in the Atlantic and help increase the winds around the region to between 10 and 16 mph, gusting to over 20 mph.

Temperatures today will be a few degrees warmer than our high of 24 yesterday -- we should get into the upper 20's in Philadelphia this afternoon (mid 20's north of the city).  However, despite the increase in temperature those increased winds will help make it feel  like the upper teens in the afternoon, colder at times prior to that and colder than that north and west of the city.  Regardless, today marks the fifth straight day of subfreezing high temperatures in the region.

A few flurries or a snow shower can't be ruled out across Central into Northeast Pennsylvania thanks to dying lake enhanced snow bands...those dying bands of snow will likely yield just clouds around Philadelphia that will cross the sky at times today.
