Variably Cloudy, Colder Than Yesterday
Temperatures are taking a step back as colder air builds into the region but even by winter standards this cold is nothing lip-busting, skin-cracking, nor terribly arctic. It's typical winter weather but a few degrees colder than what it should be at this time of the year (average high is in the upper 30's or low 40's depending on location).
We'll have a mix of clouds and sun around today as some lake effect clouds stream southeast through the course of the day today to our city's north, as well as some mid level clouds pushing overhead in the atmosphere from that departing southern system that scooted to our south overnight. All in all, probably see a bit more sun this afternoon than we'll see this morning but it's not going to be a wall-to-wall kind of sunshine day. Temperatures today take a step back from yesterday's highs in the 40's, with mid 30's about the best we can muster in the city. Adding a solid northwest breeze at between 10 and 15 mph, it will feel closer to 30 in the city and in the 20's in the burbs at their warmest.
