A deep trough over the Eastern US will provide us a very cold day. Out ahead of it, there is a rapidly strengthening storm off the east coast that is currently southeast of New England as of the current time. This will aid in providing a breezy day with gusty Northwest winds that will make it feel even colder. Strong cold advection behind the storm will be in place throughout the day and this will not make temperatures rise much from what they already are this morning. We're starting in the 20's this morning in most places, with temperatures only increasing a few degrees through the course of the day. In the city, we'll likely coax out a high in the lower or middle 30's this afternoon.
With the axis of the deep trough being over the region during the day, some added instability will be in place to help spark a few snow showers over the Poconos, perhaps dipping down into the Lehigh Valley and Central New Jersey. This will mainly be during the afternoon hours. Other than that, we'll see mainly a mix of clouds and sun.
