Late Season Chill Continues

March may be here, but winter temperatures are still in full force.  Temperatures as of 7 AM are in the teens in the Poconos and in the mid to upper 20's elsewhere.  A slight breeze is also making it feel much colder.  The cold is locked in place thanks to a deep trough and northwest flow all along the Eastern US, east of the Mississippi and this stretches all the way down to Florida.

We'll see some sun today, but there will be a lot of clouds around and in fact, there may be more clouds than sun at times.  Highs today will be around 40 in the city and points south and east.  It will stay in the 30's north and west of the city into Northeast PA.  It will also be breezy, making it feel even colder.  Temperatures for this time of year should be in the upper 40's to around 50 degrees, so it will be over 10 degrees below average.

It will stay cold for the next few days, thanks to a blocking feature in Southeast Canada that will keep the cold in place.  This will help though keep a storm system to our south for mid-week.  Some areas in the city and points south and east will see snow from this, but the brunt of the storm will stay to our south and really hammer Virgina, Maryland and parts of Delaware, including DC and Baltimore.  More details on that as the event gets closer.
