Showery For Most Today, Cooler For All

Temperatures are in the 50's early this morning around the region with showers spreading in from the south.  Today's going to be a damp day for much of the region as showers push on through.  Showers will be more numerous and steadier across the southern and eastern portions of the Delaware Valley, while northern and western sections deal with a bit less steady activity.  Most everyone sees at least some shower activity today though.  Some places, especially south and east of Philadelphia, pick up a quarter to a half inch of rain or more through the duration of today and tonight.  Showers through the course of today will generally push northeast or east-northeast through the region.

Winds from the east and southeast at 10 to 18 mph (higher towards the Shore) will help keep a damp and cool feel in the air throughout the region.  Unlike last Tuesday's cold and raw feel, the wind trajectory is a bit more southerly and there's a bit more "warmth" around to nudge temperatures up a few degrees through the course of the day.  Expect highs near 60 in much of the region this afternoon, reflecting the fact that temperatures aren't going to budge a whole heckuva lot on a dreary day...with most of us staying in the 50's today.
