A cold front will slice east towards us for Wednesday afternoon and evening, giving us a mild day in advance of the front (70's for a high?) before a cool down kicks back in for Thursday through the duration of the week. The front will carry with it a shot of rain and perhaps even thunder for Wednesday evening.
The best chances of thunder appear to be to the west of the city where there will be a bit better dynamics and instability for thunderstorms within the line as it moves east. However, we should see a steady round of rain from Wednesday evening's rush hour through the early morning (pre-rush hour) parts of Thursday. Unlike last Friday, there is no real threat of severe weather with the front anywhere nearby. We'll be lucky to even get thunder out of this.
Rainfall from Wednesday night should average out to around a quarter inch -- some spots with more, some with less. A few half inch totals can't be ruled out to the west of the city whereas the lowest rainfall totals may occur at the Shore as the band of rain weakens as it approaches you.
