June 1st, 2013 Forecast
Wow, June already and we're into our first official heatwave. If your headed out tonight, there won't be too much drop off in temperatures headed down to our low of 69-degrees. To the north and west, we'll stick in the mid-60's and to the south and east, into the upper 60's. Skies will reamin mostly clear. Winds will be out of the southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Tomorrow, another hot one to make it number 4 in the 90's. Throughout the area, high temperaturs will remain around the 90-degree mark, except for down the shore, where high's will hit in the comfortable upper 70's. Winds will remain out of the southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Another Air Quality Alert has been issued for tomorrow as well, so take it easy if you can.
Big changes are on the way for Sunday, however. The cold front that has been plaguing the mid-west will move into our area and provide us with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunday will start out partly sunny, but by the afternoon the precipitation will start moving in. Some storms could be strong to severe in nature, and the Storm Prediction Center has already placed us under a Slight Risk. The stormy weather will continue into Monday, but by the evening we should start seeing clearing. Highs on Monday down in the lower 80's. Tuesday, temperatures return to near normal with highs in the upper 70's and mostly sunny skies. After the stormy period at the beginning of the week, we're in for a great stretch on comfortable weather. Wednesday and Thursday both feature temperatures in the mid- to upper 70's under mostly sunny skies, and by next week's end, we'll see temperatures up near 80-degrees and partly sunny skies.
