The main story today will be the warm temperatures. It's already mild out there to start with 50s and 60s across the region. We'll tack on another 20 degrees or so in the city by day's end.
There will be a fair amount of sunshine today. Skies will be mostly sunny at times, but overall we'll call it a few clouds. By noon, low to mid 70s will be common area-wide. High temperatures will top out in the low 80s in Philadelphia, around 80 north and west, and in the mid 70s at the Shore.
An area of showers and storms is tracking across Southern Pennsylvania this morning, heading east-southeast as a frontal boundary tries slipping south. The current path of these showers suggests that areas south of the city could see some showers, perhaps a rumble of thunder, later this morning into the midday hours. There could be a few additional pop up showers around later today south of town along the front.
