Forecast for Sunday, June 9, 2013

A weak area of high pressure will be enough to provide some breaks in the clouds for tonight into Sunday. A warm front will arrive late Sunday and move through on Monday. A few isolated thunderstorms are possible on Sunday Afternoon and especially during Sunday Night with more widespread showers and thunderstorms anticipated for Monday. A cold front will move through our region on Tuesday with additional scattered showers and thunderstorms likely. Another front will arrive Thursday into Friday with additional precipitation.

Flash Flood Guidance is low in the wake of the remnants of Andrea. Some waterways are still above flood stage in our region as of this afternoon. Additional heavy rain is possible this week, especially with any thunderstorm. So flash flooding may be an issue to contend with for the upcoming week. There may also be isolated severe thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday and again late in the week, although extensive cloudiness may limit the threat.
