Clouds and Sun with Afternoon Thunderstorms

Temperatures as of 7am are in the mid 70's for most of the region.  The exception is in the Northeast PA and coastal New Jersey where readings are a bit cooler in the mid to upper 60's.  Another warm day is on tap, but not nearly as hot as the last two days. Highs will reach the middle 80's for most areas, with some upper 80's possible along I-95 and points south.   These highs will  likely come by mid-aftenoon as increasing clouds and storm development should keep temperatures even if not drop towards evening.

We'll see a mix of clouds and sun today.  It will also be breezy with a good breeze out of the south.  But the main threat today is thunderstorms that will be developing this afternoon and evening in advance of an approaching cold front.   The Storm Prediction Center has most of the area, with exception of the shore points under a slight risk for severe weather.  The main threat with any storms today will be heavy rainfall and strong winds.

The cold front will move through the area during the overnight hours, bringing much cooler weather for the next few days and most of the week.
