June 20th, 2013 Forecast

Tonight will be a good radiational cooling night.  Skies will be mostly clear and winds will be light, so temperatures will drop quickly once the sun sets.  In the city, lows will hold around 60 degrees.  Most of the suburbs will be in the 50s, but the Lehigh Valley and Poconos will wake up to mid to upper 40s tomorrow morning.

Another nice day is on tap for Thursday.  Look for mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 80s.  The Shore will be in the mid 70s for their high.  Winds will be coming out of the south-southwest at 5 to 15 mph.

High pressure will remain in place for Friday, the first day of summer, so another day with plenty of sun is expected with temperatures right where they should be this time of year, in the low to mid 80s.  Saturday will be a touch warmer, but humidity will remain in check.

As the jet stream slides northward, temperatures will make a run toward 90 for Sunday through Wednesday.  If we get 3 days in a row at 90 or above, it will be our second heat wave of the year.  Humidity will also increase, but it won't be oppressive by any means.  Each day will feature the chance for a pop-up thunderstorm or two, but as a weak cold front slides through on Wednesday we will see our greatest threat for showers and storms.
