Temperatures last week averaged a degree below normal and I don't think anyone complained a bit about that. Our warmest day was Monday's 88 degree high, followed by Saturday hitting 86. In terms of temperatures, it was rather normal and certainly not atypical for the middle of June and the beginning of astronomical summer.
Rainfall totaled 0.98" in Philadelphia, all of which fell on Tuesday despite a few pop up storms roaming around the region Sunday and Monday. Heavy rains on Monday did yield some flooding concerns in parts of New Castle and Kent Counties to our south; however, Tuesday did produce some prolific rainfall as a disturbance tracked through the region and coincided with a frontal boundary's southward descent through the region. Two to three inches of rain fell across portions of Chester County just from Tuesday's storm activity.
As one progressed to the north, rainfall amounts were much lower over the last week.
